Well, I continued my taper this week. It was more of a taper than I had intended. It just seemed like I couldn’t find the time to train, and when I did have time my legs just felt dead. I didn’t want to ride my part of the Dirty Kanza 200 with dead legs, so I rested more than I probably needed to. In fact, I thought my legs might feel weird on race day from all of the rest I had taken. Anyway, here is how last week looked…
Training for 5/30 – 6/5
- Mon – No Training – Lazy family day
- Tues – PLP Challenge Day 39 (48 reps)
- Wed – PLP Challenge Day 40 (49 reps)
- Thurs – Rest Day
- Fri – Rest Day (Traveling to Kansas)
- Sat – 67 miles of gravel road riding (+ Hike-a-Bike) at Dirty Kanza 200
- Sun – Rest Day (traveling back home)
The Dirty Kanza was an absolutely amazing experience. I learned a lot, had a blast, and left disappointed. I’m definitely going to attempt the full 200 miles next year. If you wanna read about the race in more detail, you can check it out right here. Until next week… Word.
We all need weeks like this. And you’ve been mighty consistent. I have to say, though, I’m looking forward to posting my week’s training so I can look back on it my next lazy week.
